Resorts in St. Lucia

Although a small island, St. Lucia is known for its all inclusive resorts and the majority of them are luxury resorts. They are located right on the beach and offer the guests the possibility to practice a lot of sports.

Tourist season

Tourism tends to be more substantial during the dry season, which also coincides with the high season (December to April). Everything is more expensive during this period and the peak is reached around Christmas and New Year’s. The low tourist season lasts between June and October, while the so called shoulder season is represented by the months of May and November. This is a good time to look for bargains.

Sandals

Part of a huge chain, Sandals Regency La Toc is a couples only resort, designed to cater for those who come to St. Lucia to celebrate their wedding and for those who are looking for a romantic honeymoon or anniversary. The resort offers a golf course on site and is located along ½ mile of beach. There are three pools and 8 restaurants.

During the high season, a garden view room for two persons costs US$378.42 per night. If you book well in advance you can benefit from several types of discounts, such as one night free or 35% off from the brochure price. For 7 nights (Dec 17-24), expect to pay between US$2,649 and US$10,332 for two persons, depending on the type of room you prefer.

Ladera

Located close to Soufriere, Ladera is still one of those relatively unknown and hidden resorts. It can be a lovely place for a magical vacation, away from the hustle and bustle of big resorts. The resort offers 6 villas suites and 26 regular suites.

For autumn 2008, expect to pay between US$425 per night per room for the petit piton suite with plunge pool and US$945 per night per room for the luxury 2 bedroom villa suite. The rates are all inclusive and the minimum stay is 7 nights.

Stonefield Estate Villa Resort

Stonefield is the island’s premiere luxury boutique resort, located close to Malgretoute and Jalousie beaches. Thanks to its location diving is very popular among the guests. Also you can go hiking in the forest located near-by the resort.

The highest rates are between Christmas and New Year, while the winter rates (January to April) range between US$275 per night for a one bedroom superior suite and US$800 per night for a three bedroom premium luxury suite. Rates are based on single/double occupancy and do not include the taxes but include the full use of the resort’s facilities.

Special packages are available (pay 3 nights and stay one free, available until Nov 15, 2008). Wedding and honeymoon packages are also available.
