Hotels in Bahamas
Out of the 700 islands which make up the Bahamas islands, 23 are inhabited. On each of them you will find plenty of hotels which cater for the tourists’ needs. Some of the popular islands where tourists prefer to stay are: Nassau/Paradise Island, Grand Bahama Island and The Abacos.
Climate and tourist season
The climate of the Bahamas is subtropical to tropical and is greatly influenced by the Gulf Stream, which moderates the weather particularly in the winter. During summer and autumn though, hurricanes pass quite near or through the islands.
The trade winds blow all the time but give the islands their warm climate. The “cooler” time of the year is between September and March when temperatures average 70-75 F, while during the rest of the year it’s a bit warmer (80-85 F).
Although a tourist destination all year round, the high season starts in mid-December and ends in March. During the high season all prices at their highest. If you plan to same some money on accommodation and airfare, visit the islands during the shoulder season (early December or April).
