Climate and tourist season

Aruba is blessed with sun all year round. Having a tropical marine climate, the average temperature is in the low to mid 80s F all year round. Tropical storms and hurricanes are a rare occurrence.

Although visited by tourists every time of the year, the high season lasts from December until April, when all the prices are at their highest: from airfare to accommodation.

Hotels in Aruba are categorized either under high rise or low rise. The high rise hotels comprise the luxury resorts but low rise hotels are very nice as well and not to mention, more affordable.

Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort

This hotel built in Dutch colonial style is located on Eagle Beach. Compared to the giant resorts on Palm Beach, Amsterdam Manor is small 3 stories high hotel which offers a cozy atmosphere, pools, restaurants, mini market and activities desk. The bedrooms have AC and equipped with kitchenette, TV, direct dial phone and have ocean view terraces or balconies. The prices do not include the taxes (19%). For the summer season, expect to pay between US$169/night for a standard studio (2 persons) and US$279/night for a two bedroom suite (for 2 persons; US$319/night for 4 persons).

Bucuti is classified as a “boutique hotel” and is located on one of the best beaches in the Caribbean – Eagle Beach. It might just be one of the best hotels for a romantic getaway. Bucuti is a European style hotel with 63 rooms all offering microwave, mini bar, room safe, hair dryer, coffee makers, free cable, movies, large balcony or terrace. The resort offers scuba, golf and honeymoon packages. For the winter (high season) prices start at US$325/night for a superior room with gardenview. Tara Penthouses cost US$495/night during the same season. For the summer (low season) prices start at US$210/night for a superior room with gardenview, while Tara Beach Suites cost US$295/night. The meals and taxes are not included in the price.
