Flights to St. Martin
St. Martin is the French half of the Dutch St. Maarten island. Although this half of the island has a small airport of its own, most flights arrive on St. Maarten and since it’s the second largest hub in the Caribbean, it’s quite easy to find discounted airfare.
Airports and airlines
The tiny airport on St. Martin is L’Espérance Airport (CCE). Only some small carriers fly into this airport, while the major carriers fly into St. Maarten’s Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) .
There are numerous flights into St. Maarten from US, Canada and Europe. American Airlines dominate the skies, but you can choose other carriers as well.
Tips to get a cheap flight to St. Martin
The peak and high season for the entire region is between Christmas and end of March. If you want to visit the island during this period, make sure to book well in advance. If you are flexible enough, arrange for a vacation during the shoulder season: early December or early April.
Also try to fly during mid-week (Tuesday and Wednesday) and avoid the weekend flights, especially if you come on a short notice.
